Transformation Motivation

Step by step, day by day, I have taken care to continue bettering my life. Yes, there are ups, and downs. This is a journey after all, and lets face it, there can be many times when your motivation to keep going just simply isn't there. There are a few ways that I use to stay motivated, and I want to share them with you.

When I feel like I'm lacking motivation, or need an extra spark. I often search the web for motivating articles, or websites that will give me the extra umph I need. For example, I spent the a good portion of my day reading articles from Steve Pavlina. I honestly don't think he updates his website at all anymore, but his advice is timeless, and the value in them does not diminish with time. I equate this value with truth. Truth is the same yesterday, today, and forever. It does not, and will not ever change. Its value is above and beyond anything else. As a matter of fact, anything else has has no value whatsoever, so in reality, truth is the only valuable thing in existence. That being said, if you have the time or inclination, check out his website. You don't have to agree or believe in anything he has to say, but there are gems of truth that I have found to be very helpful and inspiring in many of his articles.

I also find it very motivating to track my progress over time. In order to do so, you actually need to keep some sort of log or journal with enough details that help you measure progress over time. If you own a blog or website, then this is easy enough to accomplish because the statistics are generally just a click away, and there are tools like Google Analytics which take many aspects of your site traffic into account to give you meaningful data.

I've also undertaken a body transformation goal where I am lifting weights 4 times a week with the goal of changing my body composition to something that is more appealing to the me that I am becoming. Keeping track of my weight lifted, time in the gym, and generally how I feel during, and after workouts are almost as easy as keeping track of website data. In this case though, a little bit more effort is required. While in the gym, I write down the weight, and reps of each set I do, and then use a tracking app like BodySpace to keep the history for me. I also track my diet with myfitnesspal.

No matter what it is that you are trying to accomplish, there is a way that you can keep track of it. From keeping a journal, tracking statistics, taking progress photo's, asking people's input periodically, and whatever else you may think of. These tool's are important to help keep you motivated, and are also useful to help set and reach your goals as you look back on what you've accomplished to date. You may even find that you will begin to automatically set new goals from the information that you gather. As tedious as record keeping may sound, it is something that anyone who is serious about making changes in their life cannot afford to go without.

There are many ways to stay motivated, and I've just mentioned a few. Here are some things that can help summed up for you:
  1. Reading inspiring/motivating articles, books, interviews etc...
  2. Keeping track/records of your progress
  3. Talk to people who are knowledgeable about your goals
  4. Visualize your goals in your minds eye, and feel as if you've already accomplished them
  5. Create a "Vision Board" that has a depiction of your goals/desires in a place you spend a lot of your time

Here is a picture of my Vision Board if it helps you get an idea for one:

Feel free to add any additional ways that help keep you motivated in the comments!

The Transformation Journey

Transformation in my mind, is an all around reconstruction of all facets of your life. To me, this includes physical, spiritual, financial, and emotional changes for the better. I very much want to change my life for the better. I want to be able to provide for the well being of my family in an abundance of health, wealth, and spiritual welfare.

My journey didn't start where I am today, but started when I first became aware that my life was simply a reflection of my past choices. My choices were a reflection of my emotional, and spiritual well being (or lack thereof), and my emotional/spiritual well being was based off of the attention and energy I gave them. It's all one big circular pattern of self actualizing, and if it is not watched, nurtured, and taken care of, our lives can become living nightmares. I can see very clearly that the desires of my heart of hearts have always been granted. Not one single thing has never failed to manifest in the physical reality we live in. Whether these things were good or bad didn't matter. They came, and by arriving I learned valuable lessons. Looking back at those lessons, I have learned that it is entirely possible to achieve anything that I put my focus, energy, desire, passion, and drive into.

My purpose for this blog is to document my progress from day to day, or week to week, and to share what I know, and learn to those seeking the same. I'm using this diary/blog as a tool to keep me motivated, and on track, in addition to providing a resource for others to gain insights, and inspiration from. There are countless websites, and blogs devoted to just this cause, and I'm sure that mine is just another drop in the bucket. However, if there is any value in what I have to say, then I have no doubt that readers will not only find their way here, but benefit from it as well. If you've found yourself reading this post, please feel free to follow me as I document the transformations taking place in my own life. Feel free to comment, and ask questions if you have the need.

Here is some reading that I have found very beneficial, and insightful:
